IBM AGKP 00GH814 LTO8 Two-Port Fibre Channel Tape Drive Full-High
IBM AGKP is an LTO8 Fibre Channel Full-High Tape Drive that has a two 8Gb interface ports, has 00GH814 part number, and has a maximum native data transfer rate of 350 MB per second per port, but will auto-negotiate to lower speeds and can be installed in an IBM TS4300 Tape Library Model 3555. The IBM AGKP LTO8 Fibre Channel Tape Drive FH cables are not included and must be ordered separately and are required to attach the TS4300 Tape Library to a host Fibre Channel adapter. The IBM LTO8 Tape Drive is a high-performance, high-capacity tape storage backup and restore device for IBM i, AIX, Linux Power Servers and other open system platforms. IBM Ultrium 8 or LTO8 tape cartridge can store up to 6 TB of uncompressed data or up to 15 TB of compressed data assuming a 2.5 to 1 compression ratio.

The actual capacity varies depending on the application, the type of data, and the tape cartridge. 6 TB is typical and 15 TB is possible when the Data Compression setting is activated. The default setting of Data Compression is controlled by the host system. The user and the application software can control the activation or deactivation of the data compression setting. The drive can typically achieve a 2.5:1 compression ratio.
