IBM ES0M 387GB SFF-3 SSD for Power8 iSeries systems
ES0M 387 GB SFF-3 SSD for IBM i Power8 systems is a SFF 2.5" SAS Solid State Drive SSD providing 387 GB capacity formatted with 528 byte sectors. The IBM ES0M SSD uses Enterprise Multi-Level Cell eMLC flash memory technology to provide extremely reliable, cost effective SSD storage. The Power8 ES0M SSD is supported in SFF Gen3 SAS bays (SFF-3) in the POWER8 system unit and reports with CCIN 59E6. ES0L Solid State Drive and ES0M SSD are physically identical drives. IBM uses different feature codes to know the OS type the SSD is used, ES0L indicates usage by AIX, Linux or VIOS, whereas ES0M indicates the SSD is used by an IBM i.

Limitation: Cannot be used in 5887 IBM EXP24S Gen2 I/O drawer due to physical difference in the tray/carrier.
