The IBM 9824-22A ERGR 4-Core 3.6-4 GHz Power11 eSCM Processor supports running IBM i natively, virtualized, or as a combination of both, and requires both sockets to have a ERGR processor populated, making the system an 8-Core system. The IBM S1122 with ERGR 4-Core 3.6-4 GHz Power11 eSCM Processor requires I/O to be virtualized through VIOS for OS400 workloads, and IBM i partitions must be set to restricted I/O.
All IBM S1122 9824-22A Power11 server processors limit LPARs to run at the 4-Core maximum of 118,200 CPW. The rPerf is 293 for a two socket 8-Core configuration with the ERGR 4-Core 3.6-4 GHz Power11 eSCM Processor in both sockets. Hardware Management Console HMC Requirements for IBM Power11 Servers
All IBM Power11 systems require v11 Hardware Management Console HMC, which is supported on the IBM HMC 7063-CR2 HW appliance and the IBM vHMC SW appliance. The IBM Hardware Management Console HMC model 7063-CR1 does not support HMC v11 or management of IBM Power11 servers. The IBM HMC is a Linux based hardware appliance used to configure and manage one or more IBM Power servers, and performs the following functions: Power Server Hardware Management, Power Hypervisor & Virtualization Management, Service and Update Management, Monitoring, and enables integration for other IBM Power system solutions. The available IBM HMC product options include the HMC hardware appliance and a vHMC software appliance. Note: the IBM HMC 7063-CR1 HW appliance is not supported for Power11 server management.
