9824-22A EBG8 32-Core 3.05-4 GHz DCM Processor is for an IBM S1122 two socket configuration Power 11 system, provides 123,800 CPW maximum, is in a P10 software tier and has rPerf ratings of 294.2 ST, 567.2 SMT2, 806.9 SMT4 and 1040.3 SMT8. The IBM S1122 9824-22A Power 11 system with an EBG8 32-Core 3.05-4 GHz Power11 DCM Processor supports IBM i, AIX and Linux Server operating systems, is available in a single socket 16-Core configuration and both are ideal for small workloads. All of the PCIe slots of the IBM S1122 9824-22A system run at Gen5 speeds with an EBG8 32-Core 3.05-4 GHz DCM Processor.

The IBM S1122 9824-22A EBG8 32-Core 3.05-4 GHz Power11 DCM Processor running IBM i OS400 workloads, requires I/O to be virtualized through VIOS, and IBM i partitions must be set to restricted I/O. This is the same for all IBM S1122 9824-22A Power11 processors with the exception of the IBM ERGR 4-Core and the IBM ERGR 8-Core eSCM Power11 Processor, which both support running IBM i natively, virtualized, or as a combination of both. All IBM S1122 9824-22A Power 11 server processors limit IBM i OS400 LPARs to run at the 4-Core maximum of 118,200 CPW, except for the IBM ERGR 4-Core and IBM ERGR 8-Core eSCM Power11 processors. The IBM S1122 9824-22A ERGR 8-Core 3.6-4 GHz eSCM Power11 server provides 29,550 CPW per core for a total of 236,400 CPW in a two socket configuration.

The IBM S1122 PCIe slots of an eSCM Processor run at Gen4 speeds. The IBM S1122 PCIe slots of a DCM Processor run at Gen5 speeds. View the IBM S1122 9824-22A Data Sheet here. All IBM Power 11 price quotes for systems and Power 11 upgrades include configuration, and optional professional services for installation, OS upgrades, data migration, applying PTFs and ongoing maintenance and support. For an MES IBM Power 11 system upgrade, you need to provide us with your current system model and serial number.

Hardware Management Console HMC Requirements for IBM Power11 Servers
All IBM Power11 systems require v11 Hardware Management Console HMC, which is supported on the IBM HMC 7063-CR2 HW appliance and the IBM vHMC SW appliance. The IBM Hardware Management Console HMC model 7063-CR1 does not support HMC v11 or management of IBM Power11 servers. The IBM HMC is a Linux based hardware appliance used to configure and manage one or more IBM Power servers, and performs the following functions: Power Server Hardware Management, Power Hypervisor & Virtualization Management, Service and Update Management, Monitoring, and enables integration for other IBM Power system solutions. The available IBM HMC product options include the HMC hardware appliance and a vHMC software appliance. Note: the IBM HMC 7063-CR1 HW appliance is not supported for Power11 server management.
