The IBM S1012 model 9028-21B is a one socket scale-out Power10 server, available in 1-core, 4-core or 8-core configurations, supports up to 256 GB memory via 4 ISDIMM slots, supports up to 12.8 TB internal flash storage via 4 NVMe U.2 bays, has 4 PCIe HHL Gen5 slots and includes a 3 year warranty. Each processor core of the IBM S1012 has private access to 2 MB L2 cache and local access to 8 MB of L3 cache capacity. All IBM S1012 processor models 9028-21B supports externally attached Fibre Channel or Ethernet connected SAN, support attaching an RDX storage device via two USB 3.0 ports, but do not support any SAS or NVMe storage drawers. The 9028-21B IBM S1012 supports VIOS, IBM i, AIX and Linux Server operating systems depending on the processor configured.
The 9028-21B EPGZ 8-core Processor is the only IBM S1012 that supports the maximum memory and internal storage. The 9028-21B EPG7 4-Core processor is the only IBM S1012 that can be purchased both as a tower or a 2U, half-wide chasis. The 9028-21B EPG3 1-Core Processor is the only IBM S1012 that must be purchased as a Tower, is only processor with a 20 user maximum and requires IBM i AS400 OS400.
