IBM Spectrum Virtualize Software Suite

The IBM FlashSystem 7300 4657-924 and 4657-U7D family includes 4657-12G Large Form Factor LFF and 4657-24G Small Form Factor SFF 12 Gb SAS expansion enclosure models, as well as a 4657-92G High-Density HD expansion enclosures. The IBM FlashSystem 4657-12G Expansion Enclosure supports up to twelve 3.5-inch drives, while IBM FlashSystem 4657-24G Expansion Enclosure supports up to twenty-four 2.5-inch drives, and the IBM FlashSystem 4657-92G Expansion Enclosure supports up to ninety-two drives. 10,000 rpm disk drives, 7.2,000 rpm disk drives, and SDD flash drives are supported. Drives of the same form factor can be intermixed within an enclosure and expansion enclosures can be intermixed within the IBM 7300 4657-924 and 4657-U7D FlashSystem. Attachment and intermixing of existing machine type 2076 and 4666 expansion enclosure models 2076-12G, 2076-24G, and 2076-92G with machine type 4657 FlashSystem 7300 controller and expansion models is not supported.

IBM 7300 4657-924 and 4657-U7D FlashSystem can scale up to 440 drives with the attachment of IBM FlashSystem 4657-12G, 4657-24G and 4657-92G expansion enclosures. FlashSystem 7300 systems can be clustered to help deliver greater performance, bandwidth, and scalability. A FlashSystem 7300 clustered system can contain up to four FlashSystem 7300 systems and up to 1,760 drives. The IBM 7300 4657-924 and 4657-U7D FlashSystems can only be clustered with other IBM 7300 FlashSystem, but clustering with other machine types 2076, 4664, 4666, 9846, or 9848 is not supported.
