EMC Avamar Business Edition

The EMC Avamar Business Edition is a purpose-built backup appliance that provides a turnkey, affordable, deduplicated backup solution. Designed for midmarket companies, it is conveniently sized and features simplified management, making it ideal for organizations with limited IT resources. Built-in storage resiliency and optional replication assure availability and enable disaster recovery. EMC Avamar Business Edition is available in two capacity points:  3.9 TB and 7.8 TB. 

EMC Avamar deduplication backup software and systems provide fast, daily, full backups for virtualized environments, NAS systems, desktops/laptops, remote offices, and business-critical applications. By deduplicating backup data at the client -- before it is transferred across the network -- Avamar only sends new, unique sub-file data segments. This enables daily full backups, even across slow or congested IP networks. In addition, Avamar deduplicates backup data globally, across sites and servers worldwide, to reduce the total backup disk storage by up to 95%. Avamar backups can be quickly recovered in just one step -- eliminating the hassle of restoring full and subsequent incremental backups to reach the desired recovery point. And for security, Avamar always compresses and encrypts backup data in-flight across the network. Encryption at-rest can also be enabled for additional security.
