QRadar recognized as SIEM leader 10 years in a row

QRadar SIEM Security Intelligence Platform is recognized as a Leader for the 10th consecutive year in the latest Forrester comparison report "Wave on Security Analytics". IBM has made many significant enhancements to QRadar over the years, outpacing its competitors in the SIEM security information and event management market place, particularly innovative features that enable companies to accurately and quickly address new threats, if not effortlessly. In its review, Forrester compared AlienVault, Exabeam, Fortinet, Gurucul, Huntsman Security, IBM QRadar, LogRhythm, McAfee, Micro Focus, Rapid7, RSA, Securonix, and Splunk.

"Forrester has covered security information market (SIM) technology under the umbrella of security analytics (SA) for years. However, legacy SIM (AKA SIM 1.0) largely failed to deliver on expectations due to growing data volumes and infrastructure complexity. Today's solutions have expanded from purely rules-based detection to include data science methods like machine learning and artificial intelligence." Read the complete report here.

The Forrester Wave on Security Analytics report emphasizes QRadar's long history of leadership in the SIEM market, when other SIEM tools did not advance their technologies to address customer demands. The largest and smallest SIEM customers echoed the same frustrations and needs: threat identification accuracy, automation and tighter integration with other products, services and intelligence sources. IBM listened and delivered.

IBM has made huge investments in QRadar, and is dedicated to the delivering the most comprehensive and easiest to use SIEM Security product on the market. QRadar enhancements are being delivered at a rapid pace, and are developed based on customer feedback and engagements. QRadar has truly redefined the SIEM Security market, enabling customers to achieve quick and simple to define yet difficult to achieve results.

The future development of the SIEM Security market will likely continue at an even faster pace than years past, as increasing data, digital transformations, adoption of cloud services and ever-increasing skills shortages will shape the next wave of SIEM. SIEM tools will be aligning their technologies with clouds, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and on-premises services and infrastructure, so that entire infrastructures are seamlessly incorporated to SOCs. SIEM solutions will become less about generating alerts and anomalies, and will adopt more use case-oriented models. SIEMs will also focus more on root cause identification through cognitive reasoning innovations such as QRadar's Advisor with Watson, driven by customer's desire to automate responses. Some customer's demands will be for full orchestration and automation capabilities using tools like IBM Resilient. Most SIEM customers will move from being less reliance on appliance-based infrastructures to an elastic, on-demand service like QRadar on Cloud provides. Most importantly, SIEM solutions will become more intelligent, simpler and easier to deploy and consume with innovations such as cognitive assistants and integrated security AI.
