Lenovo Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender for Flex System
Seamless Connectivity to Cisco Nexus infrastructure
The Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender for Flex System™ (Cisco Nexus model B22IBM) is designed to simplify data center server access architecture and operations. Clients looking for Cisco connectivity inside the Flex System chassis can now leverage the new module to reduce management and offer easy connectivity to existing Nexus infrastructure.
The Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender eliminates the need to configure each networking device or individual ports, therefore reducing the number of management points. It provides a low latency, loop-free interface that does not rely upon Spanning Tree Protocols, therefore removing one of the greatest deployment and management complexities of a traditional switch.
Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender for Flex System
Extends the Cisco Nexus fabric to the Flex System chassis. Aggregates network connections of all Flex System nodes to upstream Cisco Nexus Switch. Adds new options for Cisco-centric networking Organizations. Uses Cisco Nexus Technology and copper breakout cables.

Best Choices
In today’s highly competitive, constrained economy, most companies need the flexibility to pick and choose the best combination of compute, storage, networking and management options to achieve the organization’s IT goals. When resource choices of the data center are limited, IT often cannot choose the best equipment to meet their requirements. In certain environments, a company’s corporate IT policy may require specific branded items for all network connectivity. The Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender for Flex System™ offers choice for clients who require Cisco connectivity for the Lenovo® Flex System Chassis.
Cisco Nexus
The growing volume, velocity, and variety of data your data center needs to process means you demand consistency from your network access layer. The B22 Fabric Extender helps provide connectivity of the compute node to the access layer without increasing management points within the network. The Cisco Nexus B22 Fabric Extender connected to a Cisco Nexus parent switch supports 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, FCoE and iSCSI. To help simplify operations and management, the B22 Fabric Extender serves as a remote line card for a Cisco Nexus parent switch. The device configurations are managed on the Cisco Nexus parent switch, and configuration information is downloaded to the Cisco Nexus B22 using in-band communication.
