IBM EMXF PCIe3 6-Slot EMX0 Fanout Module 50CB 00TK674

The IBM EMXF is a PCIe3 6-slot fanout module for the IBM EMX0 PCIe3 Expansion Drawer that provides six full-length, regular-height, PCIe3 slots. The EMXF PCIe3 slots are compatible with generation 2 or generation 1 PCIe adapters, and use generation 3, single-wide, blind-swap cassettes. The IBM EMXF fanout module has 50CB CCIN and 00TK674 part number.

The IBM EMXG (50CD 02AE920) is the updated technology version of the original EMXF fanout module. Features EMXG and EMXF are functionally identical, but feature EMXG implements a small physical change to enable a larger set of potential PCIe adapters to be housed. Features EMXG and EMXF can be intermixed in the same drawer. There is no difference in firmware or software prerequisites for the feature EMXF and EMXG. Features EMXG and EMXF use the same BSC.

IBM Power9 and Power8 systems can have an enhanced PCIe3 6-Slot Fanout Module for PCIe 3.0 I/O Expansion Drawer (EMXG and ELMG). The IBM EMXO drawer provides six PCIe Gen3 full-high, full-length slots (2 x 16 and 4 x 8). The PCIe slots are hot-plug capable. With firmware 8.4, or later, the fanout module supports concurrent maintenance, though obviously while offline, all of its PCIe slots are also offline. Blind swap cassettes are used for the PCIe slots. The blind swap cassettes (BSC) are interchangeable with the 12X PCIe I/O Drawer BSC (5802, 5877, 5803, 5873).
The PCIe 3.0 6-Slot Fanout Module for PCIe 3.0 Expansion Drawer provides the same functionality as the previously announced Fanout Module (EMXF, ELMF), but a small physical change has been implemented to enable a larger set of potential PCIe adapters to be accommodated.

Note: IBM EMXF and EMXG CCIN 50CB PCIe3 6-slot fanout module must use the following PCIe3 cable adapters: CCIN 2B1C, 2CE2, or 6B52. The IBM EJ1R (58FF 02AE884) adapter only works with the CCIN 50CD PCIe3 6-slot fanout module.
