The 7026-724 is a third-generation IBM V7000 SAN that is only available in refurbished or used condition, and includes warranty and support during normal business hours. Other IBM V7000 generation models include second generation 7026-624 and 7026-524, and first generation 7026-324 7026-312 7026-124 and 7026-112. The 7026-92F, 7026-24F and 7026-12F expansion enclosures are also supported with the newer IBM 7026 IBM V7000 SFF Control Enclosure models.

A single IBM V7000 Storwize 2076-724 control enclosure can support up to 20 Storwize V7000 expansion enclosures with a maximum of 760 drives per system. Expansion enclosures are designed to be dynamically added with no downtime, helping to quickly and seamlessly respond to growing capacity demands. With four-way clustering of IBM V7000 Storwize 2076-724 systems, the size of the system can be increased to a maximum of 3,040 drives. Storwize V7000 Model 724 systems can be added into existing Storwize V7000 clustered systems that include previous generation Storwize V7000 systems.
Further scalability can be achieved with virtualization of external storage. When Storwize V7000 virtualizes an external system, capacity in that external system inherits the functional richness and ease of use of Storwize 7000.
Storwize V7000 Model 724 supports encryption for data at rest. Encryption is performed by the Storwize V7000 control enclosure for data stored within the Storwize V7000 system (Storwize V7000 control enclosure and all attached Storwize V7000 expansion enclosures) and for data stored in externally virtualized storage subsystems. Encryption is enabled on Storwize V7000 through the acquisition of the Encryption Enablement feature. This feature enables encryption on the entire Storwize V7000 system (Storwize V7000 control enclosure and all attached Storwize V7000 expansion enclosures) and externally virtualized storage subsystems. The Encryption USB Flash Drives (Four Pack) feature or IBM Security Key Manager (SKLM) are required for encryption keys management.
IBM Spectrum Virtualize combines a variety of IBM technologies, including deduplication, compression, thin provisioning, and SCSI Unmap, HyperSwap (high-availability solution), Easy Tier (automatic and dynamic data tiering), encryption of internal and external virtualized storage, FlashCopy (snapshot), and remote data replication. These technologies are designed to enable Storwize V7000 to offer a rich set of functional capabilities and deliver extraordinary levels of storage efficiency when used together.

You'll be able to make better decisions by seeing trends in performance and capacity. Storage health information enables you to focus on areas needing attention and when IBM support is needed, Storage Insights simplifies uploading logs, speeds resolution with online configuration data, and provides an overview of open tickets all in one place. Storage Insights Pro is a subscription service that provides longer historical views of data, more reporting and optimization options, and supports IBM file and block storage together with EMC VNX and VMAX. Flash wear guarantee
IBM Storwize V7000 is backed by a flash wear guarantee through the applicable warranty period, plus up to six years of optional post- warranty hardware maintenance. Should flash drives fail because of flash wear while under warranty or a hardware maintenance agreement, IBM will replace the affected drives at no additional charge.
