(#4710/#4810/#9710) PCI Integrated xSeries Server

(#4710 Only available as REFURBISHED as of June 1, 2006)

Contains a 2GHz processor and four memory slots. Each server memory slot can contain one of the following features, providing a total main storage capacity from 1,024 MB to 4,096 MB.

512MB Server Memory (#0446)

1GB Server Memory (#0447)

At least two server memory cards are required with each server feature. Server memory cards must be installed in identical capacity pairs. On model upgrades or MES orders, a server feature may be ordered without memory features if usable supported memory features already exist on the installed system.

One embedded 100/10 Mbps Ethernet LAN controller is included, and the server feature can support the following LAN IOAs in any combination:

PCI 100/16/4Mbps Token-Ring IOA (#2744)

PCI 1Gbps Ethernet IOA (#5700)

PCI 1Gbps Ethernet UTP IOA (#5701)

When a LAN feature is used in conjunction with a server feature, the following ordering rules apply:

If #2744 is driven, then one #0223, 100/16/4Mbps Token-Ring Specify, is required for each #2744 driven.

If #5700/#5701 is driven, then one #0226 (1Gbps Ethernet Specify) is required for each #5700/#5701 driven.

Up to three IOA LAN features can be supported by the #2892, depending on the system unit/tower position into which the server feature is placed.

Native AS/400 functions are NOT supported.

The server feature does not support external host LAN.

#4710 is supported in the system unit of Models 820, 830, and 840. It is also supported in the following expansion towers when attached to these models: #0578, #0588, #0595, #5074, #5075, #5078, #5079, #5088, #5094, #5095, and #5294, #8079, #8094, #9079, and #9094. (Feature #0578 Only available as REFURBISHED as of October 1, 2004)

The server feature does not require a #2843, #2844, #9943 or #9844 IOP, but placement is limited to specific slots within the various system units and expansion towers. Two PCI card slots are required.

The server feature comes with a standard keyboard/mouse splitter cable and can support either standard or USB 1.1 keyboard and/or mouse.

Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2003 Server operating systems are supported, and the following applies:

IPCS Extension Cable for Windows is the default (but may be removed) (#0325).

A minimum of 1GB Server memory is required.

IPCS Keyboard/Mouse for Windows is default (in countries offering it) (#1700).

A display must be connected to the Integrated Server to support Windows.

OS/400 V5R2 plus PTFs, or later, is required. For required PTF information, refer to Informational APAR II13609 at:

(#6618) Integrated Netfinity Server

(Only available as REFURBISHED as of December 28, 2001)

#6618 contains a 333Mhz Pentium II processor, four main storage slots, and three LAN IOA slots. Each memory card slot can contain either a 32MB memory card, a 128MB memory card, or a 256MB memory card producing a total memory capacity ranging from 32MB to 1000MB. At least one memory card is required. The feature numbers for the memory cards are as follows:

#2861 32MB Server Memory

#2862 128MB Server Memory

#2867 256MB Server Memory (Only available as REFURBISHED)

Each LAN IOA slot can contain a PCI Token-Ring IOA, a PCI Ethernet IOA, or the PCI 100/10Mbps Ethernet IOA. The Integrated PC Server is capable of supporting all three IOAs in any combination, with a maximum of two #2838/#9738. At least one LAN IOA feature is required. The features for the LAN IOAs are as follows:

#2723 PCI Ethernet IOA

#2724 PCI 16/4Mbps Token-Ring IOA

#2838 PCI 100/10Mbps Ethernet IOA (Only available as REFURBISHED)

#9723 Base PCI Ethernet IOA (Only available as REFURBISHED)

#9724 Base PCI Token-Ring IOA (Only available as REFURBISHED)

#9738 Base PCI 100/10Mbps Ethernet (Only available as REFURBISHED)

If #2724 or #9724 is selected, then #0220 (Token-Ring on IPCS) is required for each #2724/#9724 selected to run on a #6617, #6618, #2854 or #2865.

If #2723 or #9723 is selected, then #0221 (Ethernet on IPCS) is required for each #2723/#9723 selected to run on a #6617, #6618, #2854 or #2865.

If #2838 or #9738 is selected, then #0222 (100/10Mbps Ethernet on IPCS) is required for each #2838/#9738 selected to run on a #6617, #6618, #2854 or #2865.

All three PCI slots can be used for Integrated PC Server functions. Two of the three PCI slots can support native iSeries functions.

#6618 requires three IOP slots (must be adjacent)

#6618 cannot be placed in #5044.

If running NT operating system on #6618, then;

#0325 (IPCS Extension Cable for NT) is required

A minimum of 64MB Server Memory is required. Maximum total memory is 1024MB.

#1700 (IPCS Keyboard/Mouse for NT) is default (in those countries offering it)

A display must be connected to the IPCS to support NT.

For supported keyboard/mouse and display types, see

http://www.as400.ibm.com/nt

All three PCI slots can accommodate LAN adapters. Two of the three PCI slots will support native iSeries functions. Max of one 100/10Mbps Ethernet IOA in the two native iSeries slots. A LAN adapter in the third position is not visible to OS/400 only to NT. Two total 100/10Mbps Ethernet IOAs.
