IBM 3580 L13 Ultrium 1 Single External LVD SCSI Tape Drive
The IBM 3580 Model L13 is an Ultrium Tape Drive. It provides media capacity of up to 100 GB (200 GB with 2:1 compression) data storage per cartridge and a sustained data rate of up to 15 MB per second (uncompressed) and up to 70 MB per second when using 2:1 compression. With support for IBM LTO Ultrium-format tape data cartridges, the 3580 Ultrium Tape Drive provides an excellent migration path from digital linear tape (DLT), 3570, 1/4-inch, 4mm, or 8mm tape drives, autoloaders, or libraries. They are cost-effective solution for backup, save-and-restore, and archiving functions as a part of the family of IBM Ultrium tape products. The IBM 3580 Tape Drive Models L11 and L13 feature an Ultra2/Wide SCSI Low Voltage Differential (LVD) interface.
The IBM 3580 L11 is identical but came with a 1-year Customer Element Exchange warranty as opposed to 3-year warranty on L13s. Since the last new models were sold toward the end of 2004 there are no longer used L13's with warranty remaining.

The 3580 Tape Drive can be attached to the IBM AS/400, IBM RS/6000, IBM RS/6000 SP systems, Netfinity, and non-IBM servers, workstations, and personal computers that support Ultra/Wide SCSI HVD and Ultra2/Wide SCSI LVD interface specifications.
